The Children's Advertising Review Unit (CARU) helps companies comply with laws and guidelines that protect children under age 13 from deceptive or inappropriate advertising and ensure that, in an online environment, children's data is collected and handled responsibly.
CARU Supporters take an active role in creating new guidance and best practices to help meet regulatory and compliance goals.
CARU Supporters have the opportunity, often in a Chatham House Rule environment, to discuss challenges with CARU and other likeminded brands, staying ahead of legal developments and proactively strengthening child-directed marketing and privacy practices.
In addition to all of the benefits that National Partners receive, CARU Supporters also get:
Insider Access
Access to CARU experts to answer your questions about advertising and privacy issues directed to children.
Services
Complimentary advertising and privacy pre-screen services.
Insights
Gain exclusive insight on the application of CARU’s advertising and privacy guidelines in the ever-changing children’s landscape.
Network
Attend quarterly meetings with fellow CARU Supporters to discuss the current landscape and upcoming challenges.
During 2024, CARU celebrates its 50th anniversary (CARU50th.org).
As we celebrate 50 years, our quarterly meetings, exclusive to CARU Supporters, will examine the evolution of children, technology and laws throughout the years, as well as the road ahead as we prepare for the future.
