By July 1, 2026, companies subject to the South Carolina Age-Appropriate Design Code (SC AADC) must complete independent platform assessments and submit public reports to the state attorney general.
The law applies to any "covered online service" = platforms and apps that conduct business in South Carolina that are "reasonably likely to be accessed by minors," and meet at least one of three size thresholds: 1) annual gross revenues exceeding $25 million, 2) processing data of 50,000 or more consumers, or 3) deriving 50% or more of revenue from data sales
There is no clear playbook yet, and standard privacy audits won't cut it. You need a partner who combines independent oversight, regulatory credibility, and decades of hands-on experience in children's privacy.
The SC AADC mandates that covered online platforms undergo independent third-party audits in consultation with experts on minors' use of covered online services to evaluate platform design and the treatment of minors. These audits must result in public reports submitted to the attorney general.
Our approach combines independent evaluation, regulatory expertise, and practical implementation guidance. Together, we are not just identifying risk, but resolving it.
